Founded in the 80s by Shawn Stussy in Laguna Beach, Stussy began as a clothing brand worn by surfers and skaters in California before expanding into various music subcultures. As time went on, Stussy became one of the most popular brands for young people in Los Angeles and New York alike. The brand is arguably one of the most influential in the realm of "streetwear" along with being one of the first to acknowledge and use the term.
